LBC: Lolita Plans For 2015

This year is going to be even more wilder for my frilly life! Over the last year I've committed to a ton of different plans from planning larger scale meet-ups and coming up with more intriguing things to do at meets or just hanging out in the frills, next year I wish to continue to plan big.

One thing I would really like to do is get more involved with the online community. I'm a member a quite a few groups, particularly through facebook, but unless it's the LBC I don't really get involved in topic discussions. I really like a lot of the people I've met through different comm events and I do see quite a few commenting and being involved and I would just like to get into more of the dialogue and enjoy the community more.

I've been bouncing back and forth with the idea of selling my handmades and building a small indie brand. I want to share my love for sewing and frills through my work and make others happy with my clothing.

Valentine's Ice Skating Meet

This year we are heading into Providence with the Boston/RI comms Valentine's meet up. We've done separate ones before but this year we definitely though better to join forces again and enjoy the day. We will be heading first to skate then after to enjoy some hot cocoa or tea at the Duck & Bunny and everyone knows how I do enjoy a hot cup of tea.

Daffodil Days

This is not exactly a planned meet up as of this moment nor do I really know if it will happen but this is the name of an afternoon tea event held at one of my favorite stops here in RI. The house is Blythewold house and has many great pieces and a plenty of space to get lost in on the grounds. I have attended their teas before and it's a very lovely experience that is paired with a wonderful view of the gardens. The gardens themselves are excellent for picnics which again my comm has done before over in the Japanese garden area which is a little more secluded on the grounds and has a great view of the water.

 Picnics In The Park

Just something I always enjoy and can't get enough of. I love frolicking out in the sun and having picnics. I never knew how much I enjoyed them til I was with this group. We've had several and though they are small I find them absolutely enjoyable and wish to have a ton this year.

International Lolita Day Summer

This is actually one of my first solo planned meets and it was an interesting day to say the least. Next year I plan on really getting detailed oriented and taking it up a notch or two. We shall see...

Frills & Chills 2015

Every year my bestie and I plan out an intriguing evening in the RI comm with themed coordinate contests and ghoulishly delightful dishes and desserts. In the past we have held our meets with different ideas and venues and themes, last year we visited a house that put on a Victorian mourning custom exhibit. I can't wait to get down to details for this and its planning is right around...

Rufflecon

Anyone who knows me or reads this blog knows just how psyched I am about this con. The guests, the staff, the con-goers are all fabulous and I couldn't get over last year. If you need to figure out what to do this 2015 look no further than Rufflecon. Last year Chantilly designer Fumiko Kawamura and Triple Fortune designers Babi and Kaie were a few of the guests in attendance of last year and all were fabulous. I can't wait to see what's install for this years con and the weekend is jam-packed! The last day of the con, kind of like the cherry on top, is one of my best friend's wedding where she has specified that it is Lolita-encouraged. I still haven't decided on a few outfits for the con but I've definitely come up with a coord that the bride would thoroughly approve of.

International Lolita Day Winter

This year was really something else. I've never attended a winter ILD nor a summer one for that matter but this past year I worked on both and was able to attend. For Winter, East Coast Pocky Princess Jessi, Sweet, and I got together and crafted an afternoon meet. We happened upon a bunch of really good afternoon tea options and tried to find one that would fit us well. Everyone who attended really enjoyed themselves and the evening was super lovely and fun.

Whatever this year brings I plan to enjoy another year with my frilly friends and

To continue to enjoy the shenanigans!

LBC: Who Inspires You In Lolita Fashion

Hello all you Frillitas! We're going to be writing about who inspires us in Lolita with the Lolita Blog Carnival. I'm very excited because this also means I've been with the LBC for over a little over a year. We did this topic around the time I joined but I wasn't able to get in on that round, but I began to get more involved at that point. This also means I've been blogging for over a year....time flies...

Looking around the Lolita community and seeing so many inspirational frillies I've come up with a few that definitely make me want to be frillier all the time. Here are only a few that really stand out to me.

My Friends

These ladies always make me so proud to be involved in this comm. They are strong, brilliant, and crafty individuals that rock out those frills like there's no tomorrow. Some are starting their own shops and brands, Atelier Sucre run by my bestie Sweet Okashi, Darcy Deco by my friend Darcy, just to name a few. Sweet does a lot of lovely Lolita accessories and clothing and Darcy paints commissioned teacups and teapots in prints you like, check them out. (I'll be getting a teacup I've commissioned from her soon and I'll write up a review!) My friends are pretty darn fantastic and I was lucky enough to meet them through Lolita.

Fumiko Kawamura of Chantilly

I think she is just so super cute and lovely! She was so kind and nice when I met her at Rufflecon 2014 and getting to see all of the wonderful things she has made up close and personal was really cool. You could also tell how much care she put into her work and that she enjoyed what she was doing and interacting with the customers. She is incredibly talented and her brand image and designs are all inspirational to me. Her cords are of course all her own and every time I see pics of her she is just always so super cute. So super cute, super kind, super talented, shows her care for people and her work.
