LBC: 5 Ways To Beat The Heat In Lolita Fashion

If you live on the same side of the world and hemisphere as me and a few other frilly individuals you will have gathered that we are definitely getting that Summer heat; and if you are frilly this could be quite a bad mix. Though it's been up and down temperature wise there have been days that I feel as though I can melt into the sidewalk (yesterday being one of those days), with all those frills it can be ridiculous. Even though there are so many layers within this fashion though there are ways to beat that heat. In this weeks topic for the Lolita Blog Carnival we discuss what ways we find in order to keep from turning into the wicked witch of the west, these are 5 ways that I do it.

<3 Hand Fans <3

These are a frilly persons best friend no matter what the coordinate. Not only are they cute and can match any of your co~ords, if you shop around enough, they are compact and easy to travel with. If you don't own one you should pick yourself up one, even if it doesn't match.

<3 Parasols <3

Whether you are using it to block out the sun from your eyes or to keep a bit cooler and not having the light beat down on you parasols are a nice little thing to have. I don't think I leave my house without one and have several colors to match my cords.

<3 Hats <3

As everyone probably knows by now, I am a hat person and think that antique and vintage hats go so well with Lolita fashion. It is another good way to keep the sun from beating down right on your head if you don't own a parasol.

<3 Boleros <3

Usually I would make some blouse suggestion with certain fabrics for this topic but there really isn't anything quite like a short sleeved bolero. there are a wide variety of styles and a lot of them are in light weight, breathable, fabrics that really make life easier.

<3 Stay Hydrated <3

I think that one of the best things to do if you don't have the ability to stay indoors for meets or events in Lolita is to stay hydrated. I usually carry a tea cup around and find it quite useful in certain situations but many people bring thermos or water bottles too. I think that if you can keep your body temperature low it helps a lot in keeping you cooler in all the layers we wear.

So these are the top 5 ways I beat the heat in this fashion and think they would be useful habits to pick up. If you are curious to read on ways other frilly individuals do this too you can check them out in the links they've provided, below. Hope you've enjoyed this weeks topic, I'm about to head out with these things into the fray to go pick up fabric. Cheers! XOXO

365 LLC Days 177 - 179: Of Flower Pressings, Wearing Something Unloved, & Closet Space Photographs

June 26, 2018

It's actually pretty hard to find flowers that you are aloud to pick that also flatten well, this little clipping I thought would do nicely. The colors are very vibrant and I was worried when I picked them that the color would fade to quickly if I couldn't press them properly soon enough. Usually, when I pick flowers they are small enough to fold into my small notebook but this was a big batch. I'll check in a few days and they should be perfect though, with the proper pressure.

June 27, 2018

Dear me, it's not you, it's definitely me.

I do love this piece but maybe I just need to try a few different blouses and not as many boleros, I'm also not such a fan of halterneck jsks if I'm being honest. Here it is anyway...

June 28, 2018

You know how I've been saying I try to clean up my wardrobe space in it's entirety once a month and small bits of tidying every week? Well, I had actually done that mega cleaning just the other day. I feel a bit relief as the previous week was proving to be precarious with how it was looking. I don't like mucking through my wardrobe when I'm dressing for the day and I know it is a bit cramped so that is why I do a cleaning so often, so here it is in it's cleaned up state.

*********************************************************************************

So that's it for the last few days, if there is something I've learned from this one is it's good to keep things tidy in regards to the wardrobe and that maybe some things are just not to be for pieces that just don't suit me.

365 LLC Days: 174 - 176: Of Constellation Coords, Print Designs, & Classical Music Before Bed

June 23, 2018

So I decided that I wanted to go with a constellation that is not often thought about when they think of the night sky. I've already done a few different constellation coordinates (badum chi) in the past and decided to go with one I've not done before, Corvus, the constellation formerly called the Raven in Babylonian times. Ravens are seen as symbols of death and marked the gate to the underworld by many. The belief did exist that souls of the dead would be brought on the backs of Ravens, ferrying spirits over to the underworld.

I tried to give it a winged look with the bell sleeves and an added layer of ruffles to the shoulders, the ruffled collar adding to the look like a ruffled feathered bust of a bird. As there is still a future in death in the afterlife in mythology and religion I decided to add the Sweet Mildred fortune teller rosette to the mix and an edge with the studded belt and cross-bones bracelet above the sleeve's bell. Since ravens love shiny things I added a necklace of coins to the top of the hat and a black star necklace to wear under the neckbow. I'm not sure how anyone feels about this coord but I kind of dig it and will be interested to see it when actually worn.

Dear 365 Lolita Lifestyle Challenge, this is messing with my method!!! But not in a negative way, truly. Since doing my first print I have sort of developed a method in which I develop my prints. The way it works is I focus on one, doodling it out on paper by hand and then redo the entire thing in Photoshop, all while listening to scary story narrations or music. I don't like ideas to interfere with each other, writing out details on little notes when other ideas pop up, and I already have one on deck that I am fighting with drawing out the people in it for. The other one I did for an earlier challenge with a name generated print, posted here, happened to coincidentally floating around in the back of my brain for a while. It only speeds up the process for other things and gets logged for later.

Wracking my brain over which one to do next I finally was struck with the inspiration to draw out one of my first ideas to turn into a print, Edgar Allan Poe's The Pit and the Pendulum. I have a special affinity for Poe, as many of you have probably figured, and while looking I felt instead of something delicate I should go back to the darker side of my brain.

June 25, 2018

'Tis been a long few days and I feel as though I haven't had a good nights rest in quite some time. I've already made a que of several classical music pieces to help lull me into a relaxed state tonight, creating it this morning when I wasn't yet running around like a nut. During my nightly routine, after flossing and brushing my teeth, I go through all the steps I do washing and moisturizing my face and figured it'd be best to start the music then. After all that, my next course of action is to actually read a bit before calling it a night (fun fact: I usually read mystery or horror before bed and have never actually read a romance before). Should the music stop before I drop I'll just select a few more before I'm off to the land of nod.

Here's some Debussy to start you off if you're thinking of doing the same thing:

**********************************************************************************

Really I have nothing to say about the last few days except that I am sorry for my little odd art faces that look like typed out emojis, though I do think my potato rats are cute, and that so far listening to classical music is something I recommend doing before bed if you already don't. (I do but I never thought to start it while I washed my face)

Anywho, I am off to bed and if you are in this general area of the world I suggest you get going too. Cheers! XOXO

365 LLC Days 171 - 173: Of Qualities Of Art, Vocabulary, & Paintings Being Made

June 20, 2018

Yeah....that's probably me in another life.....
at Le Temple De L'amour but all I can find attached for name is Maurice Leloir

If there is one thing we've established throughout this challenge, and probably a few others I may have forgotten, is that I have never really learned much about art (how my artist mother hasn't disowned me is beyond me). What I do know is music and that gave me a place to start as weird as that sounds because it breaks composers and musical composition styles into eras and I thought art may do the same, which it does! This is particularly helpful when trying to learn the differences in styles and qualities that make up different periods of art; there is Medieval, Renaissance, Romanticism, and Modern. Music eras are similarly formatted, it seems to have larger chunks rather then micro~segments, so I'm going to focus on my learning on the ones that I can relate to through music.

Luigi Cavalieri

So Baroque is one and artists tried to make a large impact with it's style to make it drastically different from it's predecessor, the Renaissance era. Artists would incorporate striking primary colors throughout their works, often times painting them in close proximity to each other and abandoned the idea of even lighting and shading making strong contrasts. Flowing garments were used to help make the scene come to life to help show not only the movement but the emotion and drama, behind the scene it held a message for the viewer.

The Raft of the Medusa by Theodore Gericault

Romanticism was another era that shares a timeline I can pinpoint, in art it refocused with gusto on landscapes and every country had a different school of thought on how it would look. And, no matter what part of the world it came from, there would be some that would have a sort of mystical influence within the artwork that would vary from subtle to fervent.

I feel as though I've only hit on the tip of the iceberg with these smaller offshoots of the eras though I do find it more fascinating then I did before starting my search today. There is certainly so much that goes on in the world of the arts that one simply can't explain it in a few sentences each. I at the very least hope it's caused you to become just a tad bit curious though.

June 21, 2018

Today has certainly been a day of many words for me, some I'm only just adding to my vocab while others I wish to reapply my brain to use them. There are so many fun words in the English language that it seems a shame not to try and use them more.

I really wish I used this word more as it is fun and fanciful, not only that but I feel one must sort of fantasticate life a bit when wearing Lolita fashion. Other words that I've been thinking of working in are retrouvelle, sirenize, polrumtious, ishkabibile, and learn the hilarious word for doing something inadvisable cacoethes. I am definitely writing that last one down in my notebook.

June 22, 2018

I am hitting the nail on the head today with all of the spooky vibes! Today, as well as the last few days, have been a little rainy, a little dreary, and perfect for tucking in with a good spooky read or movie. This particular prompt somehow managed to drop this into my lap. The artist took inspiration for this painting from Elizabeth Nadasdy-Bathory, the blood countess, and another little layer of inspiration to Brahm Stoker for Dracula. Born a noble in the mid 1500s in Hungary, a distant cousin to Vlad Tepes, and thought to be a great beauty of her time. She was obsessed with being beautiful and remaining so and she had very sadistic tendencies that rivaled any serial killer as she was believed to have tortured then murdered 650 women under her charge, to drain their blood and bathe in it.

She was only caught when too many lower class noble's daughters began to go missing, but due to Elizabeth's status she was never put to trial though her closest servants who were her happily aided her were. Her cohorts were put on trial and sentenced accordingly but Elizabeth fate was quite different. Instead of the death she would have surely gotten were she not a noble she was imprisoned within her castle's tower room, bricked in alive until her final day. I have studied this women extensively throughout my life and find her both terrifying and intriguing so when I stumbled on this timelapse video I felt it couldn't be a more perfect choice to share, especially with a day like today.

(Side note for what I wore today as I keep saying it was meant to be)

*********************************************************************************

So...I definitely went a little loopy on that last one....I'm sorry I shared some of my favorite creepy studies through a prompt?....Okay I'll just go now, I'm going to toss back this last cup of tea and be on my merry way. Cheers! XOXO

LBC: Create A Nautical Coordinate

The sun has been shinning and the weather has been pleasant, what better time then now to pull out a nautical coord? From sailors to pirates, and even mermaid covered pieces are nice to roll out with for a day of fun even if you are like me and planning to almost always avoid the sun. Anywho, this week on the Lolita Blog Carnival we are all creating our own nautical outfits to rock out on those waves (if we be near enough anyway), and this is what I threw together to share.

I didn't want to default right to the sailor look as, for some reason, I think nautical and it's the first thing that pops in my head. So instead of taking the easy way out I took a turn in that brain of mine and tried a different approach. I quickly rummaged through my wardrobe, avoiding the piece I was going to go with initially, and realized...I don't have much in the ways of nautical prints....shame on my head as the daughter of a ship's captain! But then I realized I was saved by a Neverland and a bit of fairy dust as the Night Fairy Fantasia series from Alice and the Pirates is not riddled with holes from cannon fire but pirate ships. The Jolly Roger, ship of Captain James T. Hook, is emblazoned all over this piece and I do indeed happen to have every colorway to choose from.

I did have a hiccup in deciding what color but I went with that navy blue to play up that idea theme, just a bit, but it hindered shoe selection. I do have gold shoes but I don't have gold spat shoes and I can't find the spats I made before so the black pair it is. Regardless of shoe issues I went on ahead and tried to coordinate as best I could with chains and stars and crossbones. Halfway through I knew I needed a jabot fit for the look, this one happened to tie quite nicely into a large bow at the front. I managed to tuck in a necklace with charms that include stars and a compass that one could find in the print as well, and a small fairy handing just above that. Lastly, since I really wanted a tricorn but only had the white one I added a large navy bow to it to try and tie it in better.

<3 Coord Rundown <3

<3 Jsk: Alice and the Pirates
<3Blouse: Metamorphose
<3 Shoes/bracelet: offbrand
<3 Tights: offbrand but painted by me
<3 Cat bow: Enchantilly
<3 Necklace/Hat: The Bloody Tea Party

I think it panned out okay despite not owning much in the way of navy, I think I could add more if I made a waist chain. So now as I go run to my crafting supplies to build one I'll be off, I much to do and yet I'm definitely goofing off with this project before I go to bed.

365 LLC Days 168 - 170: Of Favorite Shops, Favorite Desserts, & Meet Up Ideas

June 17, 2018

I don't have a new picture of this place but this is my FAVORITE local shop, Georgina's. I get almost all of my tea cups from this here, along with other bits and baubles, and I love the owner and her staff. If I'm having a bit of a hectic chaotic day I enjoy being able to drive down every once in a while and just enjoy sifting through all the little intriguing things I can find.

June 18, 2018

Desserts! How I have not put myself into a sugar coma is well beyond me but I have happily enjoyed a great deal. With afternoon tea I have been able to try out a bit more then I before I had joined in the fashion - prior to the frills I wear I hadn't even thought of afternoon tea and the like - and so I am grateful I have had the chance. These are just a few of my favorite indulgences that I've had before, only one prior to the fashion, but they are indeed my favorites.

One thing to note that I will note as many times until all the rest of humanity who assumes such a thing will learn, scones are not on the list as they are NOT a dessert. That said, the rest of these delightful desserts are things I have made or tried to make with relative success on most of them, pot au crème is a bit difficult to me and crème brulee is tough without a torch.

What are some of your favorite desserts?

June 18, 2018

Themed meets are indeed some of my favorite meet ups styles, I like being able to pull inspiration from it as well as see all the wonderful ideas that people have. There is much to enjoy about themed meets in my opinion. For this prompt I tried to list a few that I think would be neat to host a theme around that I would hope to host at some point soon but are in no way what they would be called.

<3 Garden Fairy Meet - If one enjoys to frolic in the garden and enjoying the world around them why not host a meet for something such as that and have it be geared towards fairy aesthetics? Depending on the location activities like flower pressing could be done.

<3 Victorian Mourning Meet for around Halloween - The only thing I'd want to have done more then have a bunch of fabulous frilly friends dressed in coordinates inspired by Victorian era mourning attire would to also have all the bells and whistles of what would be done at a séance at that time. (This is in the works for this year)

<3 Fairytale Meet - Within this fashion we have had a plethora of Alice in Wonderland themed meets - of which I honestly adore - but it would be really neat to have one based on fairytales. People could pick out their favorite ones or obscure ones and make a coord based around them.

<3 Dream Dress Meet - It would be ever so lovely to see everyone rocking out whichever dream dress they have been able to acquire. If they don't have a particular dress but some other garment it would be equally as nice to have a coord based around that.

<3 Gallery Art Meet - Going to an art gallery? Why not have everyone make a coord based around a favorite piece or one they find intriguing? After touring through it would be neat to find a nice area for photos and then post them to the event with their match.

<3 Pirate Meet - What would be really neat would be to get EVERYONE to wear a pirate themed coord. It's not always that one could get that to happen but it would be so cool and also very badass.

<3 Dessert Meet - People would not only have to coordinate based around a specific dessert but it would be a potluck event and would have to bring it to share.

<3 Favorite Event Meet - Dress in one of the coordinates from your favorite event. If you can't do exact try to make it as close as possible. It's just nice to reflect on the favs.

<3 Four Seasons - Everyone can pick a season and create a whole look around it. The great thing about this is that you don't need to do it based around any particular date even though it does involve seasons.

<3 Book Inspired Meet - Not fairytales but other fictional stories that could be anything from Harry Potter (though I would love to have just a Harry Potter meet all on it's own) to something more serious like Night Film (check that out if you've never heard of it.

<3 Constellations Meet - It would be fun to put all those constellation coordinates I've made in the past to use. It would also be neat to go to a conservatory in them with a bunch of friends doing the same thing. To keep from doubles (unless you have someone be Gemini as a group) people could sign up and it could be more then just the regular zodiac constellations, of course.

That is the long and short of it, I tried to get creative and tried to hit on the ones I would like to do that I haven't brushed on too much of (like the cloning meet or rose meet ideas). Do you have any themes you would like to do?

*********************************************************************************

It's been a long few days for me, I've been sort of sick from a bit of a migraine so I'm off to bed now, I hope everyone is doing well and I'm going to put the tea pot away now that I've scrubbed out that and the tea cup. Cheers! XOXO

365 LLC Days 165 - 167: Of Virtual Tours, Luxurious Ways, & 100 Year Old Recipes

June 14, 2018

Take a tour with me! But really, I do wish to go and see as much of the world as I can.

June 15, 2018

Luxury can mean different things to a lot of people, it could be taking a moment to enjoy that pot of tea instead of running around and working on projects, or enjoying a nice long bath the night before a work week starts, there isn't really a wrong way to indulge and it can be either a big thing or a small one. The way I did this was actually while I practiced piano by changing things up while I practice to create a different atmosphere but also create a more focused environment. I practice twice a day with a bit of time early in the morning (it's a weighted and full 88 key keyboard that you can turn low or wear headphones) and once in the afternoon and I do regular warm ups and run through older pieces before continuing to learn new segments of two separate pieces. I'm doing one baroque piece right now and one classic right now.

How I made this change to be a bit more luxurious despite it being a task? I sprayed a fragrance, opened the curtain to let the natural light in, and had the room lights off, the keyboard is actually right in front of the window so this worked out well to still have good lighting. I also made a fake floral bouquet to place in the window, in a spot cats couldn't knock over, so even though they are fake it still added a bit of something to the atmosphere while I worked away. Really I think it did add a bit of luxury to it though I know that not many would agree and probably think it was silly. I enjoyed though and that's all that mattered.

June 16, 2018

So I've just found this amazing website that it seems to have scans of different Victorian era books. This is the sort of thing I adore stumbling on because it's often difficult to find these sorts of things, and yet here we are. I poured through a few of the recipes to pick out one I wouldn't mind trying and all throughout I realized that it's mostly just wall o' text in all of the editions I've looked through, and they have quite a variety of different recipes blocked out. I sifted through a few to find one that I could easily try out in the future that was also something I've never done before, get that different experience.

Absolutely not my photo and taken from a TripAdvisor photo from a place
in France I just wanted to know what they look like.

I never have had a fruit rissolettes before but they sounded tasty and I actually found a new recipe that was very similar to the first one I found from 1886. It's also super simple and uses pastry dough, or sheets, jam, an egg white, a bit of water, and caster sugar. So here is a very easy to follow recipe for Fruit Rissolettes.

<3 Roll your pastry dough very thin.

<3 Put spoonfuls of your preferred jam or preserves about an 1 and 1/2 from each other.

<3 Dip a pastry brush in a bit of water and gently wipe the edges around the jam patches.

<3 Take another pastry dough sheet of the same thickness and size and gently place over the sheet with jam.

<3 Next, cut out the rows out around the jam pouches.

<3 Pinch around the edges of each individual rissolette pouches to finish closing them.

<3 On a baking sheet glaze each rissolette with the whisked egg wash and bake for 20 minutes in the oven at 400F.

<3 Once 20 minutes is up take out and cover with the caster sugar and pop back in for a few minutes.

And that's how easy it is apparently, I need to try this out someday soon when another friend pops over for tea. It seems like people top it with ice cream and it seems like a cute and delicious idea. If you've made it before, or if you try it out, let me know if the comments below!

*********************************************************************************

I was admittedly very stuck on doing something normal in a luxurious way, I feel like despite being frilly all the time I'm always trying to get something done and hardly sit but I came up with something I ended up really enjoying. I did enjoy looking more things up about Transylvania again, I admittedly had stopped for a few years because I got swept up in a few things...maybe I'll get there one day sooner then I think. Lastly, I totally engrossed myself in all of the desserts from over 100 years ago - so many things to try and I highly recommend checking out that website of Victorian recipes. I'm not saying they are all going to be great to actually eat but some are relatively safe to try out and have been used for...well, centuries...

I'm off, I need to get things squared away, another pot of tea to make, and finish this project before I really do loose my mind. Cheers! XOXO

LBC: Name 1 Trend You Really Love & 1 You Don't Care For In This Fashion

There are so many trends within this fashion that one little frilly person may not be exposed by all of them (although that only really happens if said frilly is new or the trend is new in my opinion) but get to experience most of them. We all have our favorites and sometimes we have our not so favorites and that's one of the great things about this fashion as there is something that strikes everyone, one way or another. This week we are all divulging one particular trend that we love and one trend that we could do without on the Lolita Blog Carnival. Don't forget to share what you feel floats your boat in the comments below.

LOVE
<3 Witchy Prints & Themes<3

Baby the Stars Shine Bright

This is only one of the ones because I also love tea time prints, music, bonnets, and Peter Pan things but it's one of the ones that often makes me stop in my tracks. I just can't help wanting to throw money at the screen over prints and designs that carry occult and obscure aspect ::cough cough:: The Witch's Bonnet ::cough::. It also doesn't matter if it is in unconventional colorways, not everything witchy needs to default to dark hues although I will probably want them in every color anyway. And as for any pin, hat, or witchy inspired piece of jewelry I will also covet it.

Alice and the Pirates

I find them all intriguing and beautiful and neat and it holds a lot of meaning for me for a multitude of reasons. The imagery often used in occult style prints are usually well thought out and well put together, there are some times there are little flubs here and there but that's to be expected sometimes when someone is only using the imagery and might not know the full story behind something.

COULD STAND TO FORGET
XCertain Food PrintsX

Spin's Boutique Shop

I was torn between cutesy animals and weird food prints and I guess looking at this hilarious pizza dress really beat out the animals. I think both do look cute and are quirky and really silly but the odd foods is a trend I could do without, I wouldn't even debate buying one whereas with the cutesy animals might be able to sneak in with a print I just really like. But strange food trends, like the bread print, open breakfast sandwiches, pizza, and bushels of bananas are just not gonna happen for me.

Babyball & Spinchen

Sure I might get a good laugh when I see someone sporting one and they may have one of the best foody coords I will ever see, I just will never want it in my wardrobe or on my body. How people love these so much is absolutely beyond me but then again everyone has something that they enjoy that's a little odd to someone else.

Well if you are looking to read what others have had to say on one of their likes and one dislike you can definitely check them out down below in the links! Don't forget to check out the Lolita Blog Carnival if you are interested in joining in.

365 LLC Day 162 - 164: Of Favorite Headpieces, Coords Based On Books, & Coords With Contrasting Colors

June 11, 2018

I can't pick just one! But my bonnets are at the tippy top of this list and I love them so much and would wear them everywhere if I could. Next on the list is my Witch's Bonnet and after that would be all of my little antique and vintage hats.

June 12, 2018

My brain did a few jumps trying to pick out a book and a look to make to pair and this is what came out of this brain. I, last minute, went with The Shunned House by H.P. Lovecraft when I got stuck on the descriptive imagery that was written about this green phosphorescent glow that could be gleaned in the basement of the house of the same name. In the story there is a bit about a woman who looses her mind and starts spouting non-sensical French to beware dogs. I went with black shoes to pick up the black couches and pull the black ribbon that's a part of the vintage hat and the jet beads in the mourning locket, I think it balances.

<3 Rundown<3

<3 Blouse: Alice and the Pirates
<3 Jsk/Socks: Baby the Stars Shine Bright
<3 Shoes: Off brand
<3 Jewelry: Antique, vintage, The Bloody Tea Party (Rose & Sheet Music pin)
<3 Hat: Vintage

June 13, 2018

I dreaded this coord challenge because I didn't know what I wanted to do or what pieces would work for this, usually I like to pair things with regular shades of white, ivory, cream, or black. Somehow, I got it in my head that I needed to go with a pairing that didn't apply one of those colors as the secondary choice. And thus I went with navy, wine, cream, and brown using a bolero I don't feel is quite finished (I need some sort of trim on that thing and it's crooked in this pic) and somehow the cream did sneak in anyway but not as a blouse. In the end I do like how it turned out and just reaffirmed my love of this particular jsk from Meta. I bought it a few years ago and just thought it was so lovely and much more then a "starter piece" as it was being advertised as.

<3 Rundown<3

<3 Jsk: Metamorphose
<3 Bolero/Rose pin/Necklice/Headbow: The Bloody Tea Party
<3 Shoes: Off brand

*******************************************************************************

I really liked how the last two challenges came out though both weren't expected to end up this way, I was going to go with a completely different book and jsk. And the other thing we see is that I am indecisive when it comes to favorite hair accessories but I'm not really a bow girl unless it's one like the smaller ones I've made. I just prefer more delicate pieces, the one I made in the last pic is as big as I'll go.

Anywho, I've got to glue myself back to my sewing table as I'm near finished with one project and I need to remake a pot of tea (and that's not something I want to do with this soldering gun that I'm using right now). Cheers! XOXO

365 LLC Days 159 - 161: Of 3 New Lolita Holidays, Facts About My Wardrobe, & Generated Prints

June 8, 2018

This coord was like rose-ception and I felt it was a good to reuse it, not only is the fabric rose colored but has a rose motif to it.

International Rose Day
Second Sunday in August

A day where everyone accessorizes with roses or even goes so fair as to wear rose prints. It could be very simplistic as anyone could pick up a rose piece from a seller or buy one from a florist or craft store. Imagine all of the colors that could be used to either contrast with a gothic coord or blend in with classic ones, rose scepters, pins, and crowns galore! And for those who really would like it would be lovely to be able to go out and attend little picnic parties at the closest rose garden, summer is a great time to view roses. I think it would be quite magical.

This photo isn't mine and I have no idea who's it belonged to originally as it is sooooo old!

International Clone Day
Third Saturday in March

Know someone in your comm with the same jsk as you? Or do you know several people who do? Why not have everyone build a whole coord together around it for International Clone Day! But what happens if you have no local comm and only have friends online? You can see if someone you know does or you could make a very neat mirror image pic of yourself to be the ultimate clone! Try out clone day, you'll feel like part of the crew! ::winks like it's a slogan::

International Tea Party Day
Second Saturday in November

Alright I couldn't think of anything more appropriate to me, this fashion does tend to scream tea party to me and I am a bit obsessed. I know not everyone cares for it but I think it would be quite cute to hold an international tea party day; we tend to have a great deal of them and though we tend to hold large ones on ILD days not everyone does. Could you imagine? Thousands of Lolitas meeting all over the world to have a tea party? And even without a local comm others could just as easily prep one on their own and join in the celebration easily. It sounds insane and fun!

<3 It's Chaotic <3

My style covers almost every style and substyle and it just depends on the day.

<3 Mostly Prints <3

I tend to gravitate more towards prints as I psych myself out with solids for some reason.

<3 Lots of Flowers<3

I'm fairly certain that most of my prints are not only covered with florals but that many of them are solely florals.

<3 Always Cleaning/Reorganizing<3

I think I spend once a week washing, reorganizing or rehanging my pieces, and once a month taking everything out to redo the whole thing. I don't mind it as it sort of allows me to reflect on what I have and appreciate it a bit more.

<3 Wear Instead of Collect<3

I don't like to have things that are pointless or useless, as strange as that sounds, I don't like tucking things away to never be used. I do have a few pieces that I have multiples of ::cough cough:: night fairy fantasia ::cough:: but I have worn every single cut and colorway with the exception of the newest addition that I wish to wear out soon for a semi~special occasion. I don't see a point in just collecting at this point so I wear and take care as best I can, wearing each and every garment out happily and in multiple ways.

I used one of the random name generators that you can pop in things to make up and I ended up with Romantic Tea Party and thus I started working on a print that I've had on the back burner because I am still working on secret print 2 and The Homunculi (my first print). I will tell you one fun fact I regret wanting a chandelier in this print and will have several anyway because I am apparently masochistic. I have been working on this print on and off since this morning when I get a chance or my memory shorts and I remember something else I wanted to add in. My brand's name will not be done on this print like this but it is there as an impromptu watermark.

What did we learn these past few days fellow frillies?...That maybe I need to learn how to draw and/or get a better eraser.

I actually really enjoyed making up 3 new holidays, I think I may try to plan an event around them

Anywho, I've drained my pot and need to put things away before hoping into bed. Cheers! XOXO
