LBC: 1 Main Piece 2 Drastically Different Looks

One thing that seems very particular to lolita fashion, with our high prized and priced garments, is that we tend to have a sort of tunnel vision with major pieces. Carefully and concisely planning out each aspect of our coords as we all tend to plan our expenses carefully around purchases because they can be a slightly large, unnecessary, expenditure. This is okay really, it doesn't matter if you repeat a coord to the last cross ring and rosette pinned to your pinafore jsk as long as you love it, but it's nice to get creative and change it up.

With this week's prompt we plan to do just that, taking one major garment and creating two drastically different looks with them. It allows an individual to not only be creative but to also make their garment more versatile with what they have. I liked this prompt because I wear my garments daily and don't tend to like to have very casual looks but then also change it up from time to time and even make a completely new look for events. This challenge is not simply about sweet vs classic vs gothic, etc, looks or casual vs OTT, this can be making a coordinate for one style as long as it's different.

♠️Look 1♠️
Jsk: The Bloody Tea Party caged butterfly jsk
Blouse: offbrand
Jacket: offbrand
Hat: vintage
Headbow: The Bloody Tea Party
Rosette: The Bloody Tea Party (cameo: antique)
Pins: vintage
Rosette chain: the Bloody Tea Party
Gloves: vintage

This jsk is more of a classic daily wear look I've adopted. This was one of the jumperskirts I made for the label design contest at Rufflecon 2016 which I plan to have another version in my shop soon. It was originally paired with my orginal design the winged bolero (as you'll see in my next picture) it's a fairly easy print to work with with a lot of rich colors and busy butterflies amongst cages. The rouched front of the bodice gives it the look of a butterflies body, which I thought would be a cool touch. Clearly this piece can easily be over the top and creating this particular coord shows that it can be more of a comfy classic.

♠️Look 2♠️
Jsk: The Bloody Tea Party caged butterfly jsk
Winged Bolero: the Bloody Tea Party matching caged butterfly bolero wings
Blouse: The Bloody Tea Party
Necktie: Alice and the Pirates
Rosette chain: The Bloody Tea Party
Headdress: The Bloody Tea Party

For this particular coord I used an accessory again but was still able to create a completely different look. This time instead of a comfy look I went more of the regal and elegant look. Bell sleeves totally grab my attention and I love wearing them often. I had initially thought of doing a bonnet but found I had preferred the flowery headdress. Without the blouse and adding a necklace this was basically the look for one of my models for the contest. I didn't place but I really do enjoy the winged bolero look.
